The steps to make Tandoori Soya Chaap are as follows:
Recently, I went to a supermarket and found soya chaap sticks that I had been looking for for a long time. As soon as I saw them, I bought them. Soya chaap cooked in tandoori style is our favorite. It can be used to prepare a variety of recipes. I love how tasty and healthy they are.
Cook them on a hot iron cast griddle if you don't have a tandoor. Ensure they are cooked completely inside out by covering them for a few minutes.
This is a great option for party snacks or starters. It takes only a few minutes to cook. The sticks can be marinated the day before the party and grilled the next day as needed.
I would appreciate your feedback if you tried this recipe.
The ingredients are:
- 5 sticks of soya chaap (180 grams)
- A quarter cup of curd
- One cube (8gm, grated) of cheese
- Black pepper powder: ½ tsp
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- One teaspoon of coriander powder
- Turmeric powder: ¼ tsp
- Garam masala powder: ½ tsp
- One teaspoon of chaat masala powder
- Two tablespoons of oil
- Depending on your taste, add salt
- This marinade should be prepared as follows:
- The ginger should be cut into 1-inch pieces (grated)
- Garlic: 4-5 (peeled and grated)
Using:
1. All soya chaap sticks should be washed and dried.
2. Marinate the sticks with ginger, garlic, and salt for 10 minutes.
3. Then combine curd, black pepper powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala powder, and salt in a bowl.
4. Mix cheese well with the other ingredients.
5. Using the batter prepared, marinate the soya chaap sticks.
6. For 1-2 hours, cover and place in the fridge.
7. Sticks are cooked using the following two methods:
The first. Prepare a heavy bottomed pan or tawa by applying oil all over it. Soya chaap sticks should be griddle cooked on each side for few minutes. Ensure even cooking by covering them for a few minutes while cooking.
The Second, sometimes I cook these in the microwave using the convection and grill modes. After setting the convection mode and preheating it to 180°C, let it bake for 12-15 minutes. Afterward, select the grill mode for 5-7 minutes and rotate the sticks.
8. Add some lemon juice and chaat masala.
9. The chutney should be served hot with the curry.
10. There is nothing better than "Tandoori Soya Chaap"!
Tips:
1. Make sure the sticks are marinated for at least two to three hours for best results.
2. Since salt has already been added to garlic and ginger mixture, use salt in curd mixture carefully.
